When you feel good about your appearance, that confidence touches every part of your life.
At Mountain West Plastic Surgery in Kalispell, you can trust your face and body to
board-certified plastic surgeons Dr. Michelle Spring and Dr. Michael Hromadka.
Moms of all ages struggle with some of the unwanted physical changes that come with having kids. Mommy makeover surgery at our Kalispell practice can restore your body contours after pregnancy, childbirth, and breastfeeding. Our board-certified plastic surgeons, Dr. Michelle Spring and Dr. Michael Hromadka, specialize in the body contouring and cosmetic breast enhancement procedures that go into a mommy makeover for women from Whitefish and Great Falls, Montana; Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint, Idaho; and throughout the Northwest.
The phrase mommy makeover describes the combination of cosmetic plastic surgery procedures designed to address the physical changes often left after pregnancy and breastfeeding. These procedures typically include the following:
Tummy tuck: Abdominoplasty, known as a tummy tuck, removes excess abdominal skin and tightens and repairs abdominal muscles separated during pregnancy.
Liposuction: Sculpts attractive contours on the flanks by removing pockets of fat.
Breast lift: Removes excess skin and elevates breasts for women who don’t want additional volume.
Breast augmentation: Implants restore lost volume to breasts that don’t need a breast lift.
Breast lift with implants: In many cases, women want to restore their breasts to a more youthful position and regain the volume lost after having children.
Breast reduction: Some women’s breasts become overly large after having children, and they want to reduce their size. This is typically combined with a breast lift, which also reshapes the breasts.
Because of the customized nature of mommy makeover surgery, though, it may include nonsurgical facial aesthetic treatments or other surgical procedures.
Dr. Hromadka and the staff at Mountain West were incredible. From the first consultation, I was impressed with his bedside manner and his ability to make comfortable and easy what I had expected to be an unpleasant experience.

I saw (Dr. Spring) for a ‘Mommy Makeover.’ I have 4 children and I hadn’t felt sexy in 16 years. My life has completely changed, and I feel like my younger, sexier self once again! I am beyond thrilled with my results…

Who Can Benefit From a Mommy Makeover?
A mommy makeover isn’t limited to women who have children. The procedure can help anyone who has lost significant weight or who has seen unwanted body changes as they get older. The most common concerns people want addressed by a mommy makeover are:
Sagging, deflated breasts
Excess abdominal skin
A “belly pooch” that remains even after losing post-pregnancy weight
Stretch marks
Excess skin in other areas of the body, such as upper arms, buttocks, and thighs
A mommy makeover can benefit anyone who feels self-conscious about their body, whether when wearing a bathing suit or undressing in front of a partner. It’s important to understand that this isn’t weight-loss surgery, and you should be at or near the weight you want to maintain before scheduling your surgery. You should also not be planning to have additional children because a future pregnancy likely will undo the results.
Because a mommy makeover is inherently customizable, some patients also choose injectable fillers or other nonsurgical facial rejuvenation as part of their procedures. The exact combination of procedures included is something you and your surgeon discuss during the consultation.

How Long Is Recovery After a Mommy Makeover?
Most mommy makeover procedures include a tummy tuck, which requires the most recovery time. You should plan to take at least 2 weeks off from work and ensure that you have a reliable support system if you have small children at home. It will be weeks before you’ll be able to lift a toddler (or any other heavy objects).
The healing process for cosmetic breast surgery involves less downtime than a tummy tuck. One of the benefits of a mommy makeover is that you only have to arrange for a single recovery period. Our surgeons provide you with detailed recovery instructions that help minimize discomfort and reduce recovery time.
Meet Our Surgeons
The combination of surgical skill and decades of experience sets Dr. Spring and Dr. Hromadka
apart from other plastic surgeons not just in Kalispell, but throughout Montana and the
Northwest. Assisted by Kristy Ehrmantraut, PA-C, their surgical physician assistant, Dr. Spring
and Dr. Hromadka are known for their down-to-earth personalities and for spending the time to
truly understand their patients’ goals.
The price of a mommy makeover depends on your specific surgical plan with Dr. Spring or Dr. Hromadka, which emerges based on your discussion at the consultation.
Combining multiple procedures in a single operation can be cost-effective because certain fees are charged only once. We quote a specific cost that includes the surgeon’s fee, an operating room fee, and an anesthesiologist’s fee as part of the total.
Can I get a mommy makeover soon after having a baby?
Having a baby takes a significant physical toll, and you should be completely recovered before undergoing any cosmetic surgery. Additionally, if you are currently breastfeeding, it’s recommended that you wait until your breasts are no longer changing size or shape after you stop. That may take several months.
Also, consider how much help you will be able to enlist. While you recover, you won’t be able to lift your child or children; therefore, you will need constant childcare.
What are some things I can do to prepare for my mommy makeover?
We provide our patients with detailed preoperative instructions to help them prepare for surgery. In addition to following these instructions, you should plan to have a trusted friend or family member who has agreed to assist with chores, errands, child care, and other day-to-day activities. It’s also a good idea to fill your prescriptions before your scheduled surgery date and shop for personal hygiene items ahead of time.
