Our 2018 in Review

2018 was a great year for Mountain West Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics! We want to thank you for making our efforts so worthwhile.

One of our core values here at Mountain West Plastic Surgery is community involvement. We are pleased to report the results of our annual events. Our involvement made a serious and exciting local impact.

In July and August, we offered complimentary consultations for those who brought in a donation for the Flathead Food Bank. This is something we had not done before, but with donations trending lowest during the summer months, we felt the need to get involved and give back to those in need. We set a goal to gather a ton of food, literally! The awareness of this and the response from the community proved fruitful as we raised over 2,000lbs of donated food, which went on to feed over 100 families. The Flathead Food Bank has been feeding the hungry in our community since 1982.

In October, we celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness month with our first-ever, annual Breast Reconstruction Awareness (“BRA”) Day Event. The Women’s Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 (WHCRA) is a federal law that guarantees insurance coverage for patients who choose to have breast reconstruction after treatment for breast cancer with a mastectomy. There are many pieces involved in the care of those who are diagnosed with breast cancer. This begins with primary care screenings and mammograms, the diagnosis of breast cancer, surgical interventions, radiation and oncology treatments, and breast reconstruction. We hosted this event in an effort to draw awareness about what we are able to do here in our own community to provide breast reconstruction for women who are diagnosed with breast cancer. We wanted to put the “BRA back in BRAve”, and we are excited at the turnout we had with our local food trucks providing lunch to neighboring businesses, staff and patients from North Valley, Health Center, KRMC, and GVPS. We fortunately had an unexpected, beautiful, sunny fall day to sit outside and enjoy our community. We look forward to developing this annual event and seeing it expand in the coming years!

In November and December, Glacier View Aesthetics offered 20% off injectables for those who brought in a donation for the Kalispell HEART Locker. The Kalispell HEART Locker is a program designed to help meet the needs of homeless students in the Kalispell area. Our special was intended to raise awareness about homelessness in our local community and to actually stock the Kalispell HEART Locker with necessary clothing, winter gear and school supplies. We collected over 1100 items; from socks and underwear, to normal household toiletries and season specific warm clothing and blankets. We hope to continue supporting the HEART Locker in the future and applaud the hard work they do for the Flathead Valley.

Mountain West Plastic Surgery and Glacier View Aesthetics were also able to run great surgical and non-surgical aesthetic promotions this past year. We had a successful promotion for Mommy Makeovers, giving women the opportunity to have breast and abdominal surgery to help recreate their “pre-mommy” bodies, Breast Augmentation, Liposuction and non-surgical CoolSculpting (fat reduction). We even hosted 3 separate “Cool Events”, highlighting the technique and results of non-surgical “freezing the fat”!

We continue to be impressed with the engagement and positive feedback we receive in both of our offices and online. We would like to continue to offer promotions based on current trends and patient desires, and we are planning to bring a few back this year that were very successful.
